The colour numbers used are 464646 for the grey, and complete black 000000
I then added Gaussian Blur to dull the gradient slightly.

Good effort. Try to make clear where each tool is being used so that we can see the affect the use of the tool has. You are trying to demonstrate excellent ICT skills here.
